The Consumexpo Exhibition traditionally opened the new exhibition season in Russia. The 20th Anniversary International Exhibition for Consumer Goods Consumexpo’2008, held with great success at Expocentre Fairgrounds on January 15-19, 2008, was organized by Expocentre under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
Consumexpo is a flagship event in the Russian and CIS markets of fast moving consumer goods and enjoys great popularity among industry specialists, businessmen and general visitors. The high international status of the show is confirmed by the logos of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.
Consumexpo’2008 hosted about 800 companies and organizations from 25 countries.
Italy and Bangladesh put on view their national expositions.
The net exhibition area made up 17 000 sq. m.
The exhibition and business events were attended by nearly 16 000 specialists. The total attendance was 23 740 visitors.
Following the tradition the show was arranged into salons. This year’s show incorporated new salons: ‘the Homestyle Salon’, ‘the Souvenirs and Gifts Salon’ and ‘the Footwear, Leatherwear, Clothing and Accessories Salon’.
A special feature of Consumexpo’2008 was a compelling program of events comprising seminars, conferences and effective sales leads.
For the first time the exhibition featured a Specialized Trade Forum ‘Strategic Challenges of the Homeware Market: Tableware, Gifts and Souvenirs’. The topical subjects of the Forum covered promotion of the home products and retailer-supplier interaction. The Forum was attended by representatives of the leading multiple stores operating in Russia.
Great interest was aroused by a seminar ‘Logistics Approach to the Movement of Goods in the Market’, run by the Research Institute of the Movement of Goods and Wholesale Markets Conjuncture (ITKOR).
The Program of Competitions of Consumexpo’2008 was busy as usual.
The Anniversary Consumexpo’2008 Exhibition opened up new opportunities for business interaction among industry specialists and further development of the FMCG market.
The exhibition organizers will be glad to welcome the participants and visitors to Consumexpo’2009, the 21st International Exhibition for Consumer Goods, that will take place at Expocentre Fairgrounds on January 13-16, 2009.
